WASHINGTON – The Joint Economic Committee – Minority released a new report with estimates of the state-by-state changes in electricity costs from 2024 to 2025. On the campaign trail, President Trump repeatedly promised that he would slash electricity prices in half. However, according to new Committee projections, annual electricity costs for the average American household are increasing by approximately $100 this year. The Committee found that electric bills have increased in 47 states, with consumers in 10 states paying at least 10 percent more for electricity.
