Today, Chairman of the Joint Economic Committee Mike Lee (R-UT) released the following statement in response to the U.S. Labor Department October 2020 jobs report:
"The labor market continues to recover as 638,000 payroll jobs were added in October. This progress is a direct result of the American people’s resolve to restore their businesses, create jobs, and return to work. In the face of rising infection rates, however, states have recently begun reversing or halting their reopening plans, threatening the economic progress we have witnessed in recent months. Therefore, it is important that we stay committed to proven safety precautions, ensuring that American businesses can operate safely and our recovery is as strong as possible."
