JEC Chairman Lee on Fourth Quarter GDP Growth

Today, Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), Chairman of the Joint Economic Committee, released the following statement on the Bureau of Economic Analysis’ GDP growth estimate for the fourth quarter of 2019:

“The American economy closed out 2019 strong, growing at 2.1 percent in the fourth quarter, and 2.3 percent for the year. PCE inflation remained low at just 1.6% for the quarter and 1.4% for the year – a strong signal that there is plenty of room for this expansion to keep growing. More Americans are working, and wages are rising. The American people are finally enjoying the vibrant, opportunity economy they deserve.”
