An updated Joint Economic Committee Minority analysis shows Americans have paid more than $16 billion more at the pump since President Trump began his reckless war with Iran. This number is nearly twice as much as the cost increase of $8.4 billion the Committee reported at the end of March. Families in all 50 states continue to spend millions more for the gas that they need to commute to work, run errands, pick up their kids, and live their daily lives. The Committee analysis additionally finds that it now costs $145 to fill up America’s top-selling pickup truck, $59 to fill up the top SUV, and $53 to fill up the top sedan.
