"Repeal and Run" Still a Disaster

Senate Republicans’ plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act without any replacement would still be a disaster for American families. Repealing the ACA would lead to 32 million more uninsured by 2026. In just the first year after repeal, 5 million fewer people will have Medicaid coverage and 10 million people will lose individual market coverage. It would also increase premiums, set annual or lifetime limits and exclude coverage for those with pre-existing conditions. To view the explainer document, click here.

Economic Impact of Public Lands

House GOP Balances Budget on Backs of Working Americans

This week, the House Budget Committee passed a budget resolution that doubles down on President Trump’s most harmful proposals and goes further by cutting taxes for the wealthiest Americans and corporations while slashing funding for proven programs on which millions of Americans rely. The House budget cuts $4.4 trillion from programs like Medicare and Medicaid and an additional $1.3 trillion from investments outside of defense like infrastructure grants and housing rental assistance. New Podcast: Opportunity Agenda

JEC Democrats launched a new podcast entitled “Opportunity Agenda” to reach audiences in every corner of the country and further the conversation on building an economic future for American families to have the opportunity to succeed. Episode 1 of the podcast is a conversation about the challenges facing the U.S. workforce following a JEC hearing last week on the topic. The podcast features an interview with Democratic hearing witness, Dr. Betsey Stevenson of the University of Michigan.
