Chairman Lee on August's Employment Numbers

Today, Chairman of the Joint Economic Committee Mike Lee (R-UT) released the following statement in response to the U.S. Labor Department August 2020 jobs report:

“I am hopeful economic activity continues to rebound throughout the fall as Americans adapt to life in the presence of the coronavirus and manage infection risks within their communities. Indicators suggest the recovery is gaining a foothold, with 1.4 million payroll jobs added in August and infection rates continuing to fall nationwide. In coming months, Americans must adhere to safety practices that support the public’s confidence so that more businesses can reopen and create jobs, restoring the livelihoods of Americans and their families.”
